Conveyor Piling Auger
A conveyor piling auger is a heavy-duty drilling and material-transport tool that uses a rotating helical screw blade—called flighting—to bore deep cylindrical holes into the ground while simultaneously lifting and removing excavated soil.
Core Components & Design
- Flighting: A spiral steel blade welded around a central pipe or solid shaft that acts as a moving ramp to push earth upward.
- Hollow or Solid Stem: The central core; hollow stems allow concrete or grout to be pumped directly into the hole during continuous flight auger (CFA) piling.
- Drive Connection: Attached to heavy machinery like piling rigs, cranes, or large excavators via a high-torque hydraulic drive.
- Cutting Teeth/Pilot Bit: Heavy-duty replaceable teeth fitted at the bottom tip to fracture dense soil, clay, or soft rock before the flighting conveys it.
